The book of 리종만 will come out soon, and I am organizing a Swiss Tour with 중화님.
I have been working on this idea for almost a year now, and it kept growing and changing its character as time went by and key people started making suggestions.
That included Christine Ahn and 김현환 박사 who is a de facto consulate of DPRK in Los Angeles.
중화님 and I first thought about forming a delegation composed only of South Koreans in SK and the US. Now we are considering including the North Koreans in Switzerland and this will be feasible if the offspring of Rhee Jong-man became the centripetal force of the event.
Your participation can be an immense contribution, as the agenda of the neutralization of Korea could potentially offer a reason for the NK and the US to agree on a solution to come out of their current confrontational military stance. That might potentially give hope to the world through the confrontational forces coming out of the deadlock and the threat of a nuclear war.

Topic: Request for cooperation in the international Korean Delegation's tour of the permanently neutral Switzerland
Dear sir,
My name is Vana Kim Hansen. I am a U.S. / Canadian citizen, My maternal grandfather, Ree Jong-man, served as a delegate to the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from 1949 to 1950 and as chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Homeland from 1955 to 1956.
My mother, Nam Soon Lee, visited Pyongyang as an interpreter for the Canadian Trade Delegation on September 24, 1975. She reunified with her father after almost thirty years of separation. She returned home to Toronto, carrying her father’s message to dedicate her life to the “permanently neutral, peacefully unified South and North Korea.” From then on, my mother prayed for the permanent neutrality of the Korean Peninsula, for thirty-six years until her death in 2013. I inherited their spirit.
In 2015, I co-organized the International Women's Peace March – Women Cross DMZ with Christine Ahn. We have conducted peace marches with thousands of women in Pyongyang and Kaesong, in North Korea, and crossed over to the South. And this time, as a co-president of the Council for the Neutralization and Unification of the Korean Peninsula, based in Seoul, I am promoting the 2023 tour of Switzerland. Christine Ahn will join us in our Swiss Tour.
The following are the objectives, methods, and configurations of the 2023 Swiss Tour.
1. Purpose of Swiss Tour:
By strengthening knowledge of the historical background of the Swiss neutral policy, the process of deployment, the features of the armed neutral policy, the defense posture of the militia, and the reserve military operating system, our delegation aims at strengthening the unified capacity of the Korean people as well as our overseas compatriots for permanent peace in the Korean peninsula, in preparation for the eventual peaceful unification, and having the basic knowledge to create peace in the surrounding area. The focus is on bringing awareness to the international community about the permanent neutrality of the Korean peninsula.
2. How to cultivate basic Knowledge:
In preparation for the accumulation of knowledge, our Council has recently published a booklet called "문답으로 알아보는 중립화 이야기 Neutralization of Korean Peninsula by Q&A" (in Korean and English), which is used as an educational and promotional tool. (See attached pdf. File).
3. When to tour Switzerland:
The tour period is tentatively scheduled for June 2023 and may be changed as needed.
4. Composition of the Swiss Tour Delegation:
The total number of Swiss tour personnel will be around twelve, with the descendants of Ree Jong-man forming the centripetal. Koreans of the international community who support the neutralization of the Korean Peninsula will be added. We will also have a documentary maker for the video recording of our Swiss Tour.
5. Cities to visit:
We want to travel to the Swiss capital, Bern, Geneva, and the top of the Alps, and visit the Swiss government offices to listen to their accounts of various aspects of permanent neutral Switzerland.
6. Swiss Tour Expenses:
Each person will bear all expenses. To facilitate our trip, we will have our select travel agency arrange hotel, ground transportation, interpreter(s), etc.

I admire your enthousiasm
But many things are not clear.
Can you clarify what you mean by
1. "Key people making suggestions"
- what suggestions?
- in what way they (christine ahn, 김 현환 박사) have become key people?
- Who else are key people?
- Who were original délégation members and your group members?
2. "Including 'the North Koreans in Switzland' (who are they?) in the délégation would be feasible, if the offspring of 리종만 became centripetal force of the évent..."
HOW? I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE LINK (LOGIC) between your siblings and the North Koreans in switzland. The North Korean diplomats (or any diplomats) are not free to join the "foreign" (NGO,) délégation without the permission of their own government!!
3. How our siblings participation (in what? Neutralization agenda?) can be a contribution ?
I don't see how the agenda of the neutralization of Korea could potentially offer a reason for the NK and the US to agree on a solution to come out of their current confrontational military stance."
In my opinion, the US is ot interested in peace or unification of the korean peninsula , not to talk about it's neutralization. The north Korea is interested, but The US is not just one body, the armament industry will never agree on peace in korean peninsula.

Thanks for your reply, Okkyung. I will explain.
1. Key people:
- 강종일 and I are the core people.
- Una is the third person. Una went on the 2015 Women Cross DMZ with me and has had a first-hand experience of international peace activism.
- The fourth person is Christine Ahn, the current executive director of Women Cross DMZ; I collaborated with Christine in 2015, and we successfully brought the international women's peace marches in NK to the finish line.
- 김현환 is the fifth person. I have known him for many years in LA. He is the president of 재미동포연합회. I know his work, and he knows my work.
2. Once I know who among our siblings will join the delegation, I will send an email letter to the North Korean Embassy in Switzerland and ask them to collaborate with our delegation. This request is based on two things: (1) my awareness of 이종만’s special place in the consciousness of the NK people. (2) my experience of co-organizing the 2015 Women Cross DMZ, which was an unthinkable thing to do. We first met with 박철 참사관(뉴욕북한대표부), and he contacted 평양 to make things work.
- 이종만 is highly respected in NK, and they treat us, his descendants with respect. We are important to the NK 해동위(해외동포위원회) to play whatever role we can. I found out these things over the years from my meetings with several men, including 김관식(?) 해동위 위원장.
Hopefully the delegation will be composed of our family (siblings and Una), 강종일, Christine Ahn, Henri Feron (a German Korean international lawyer, who recommended neutralization of Korea, see the attached file), and Mélanie Komagata (Jurich University) that you connected me with. (Ms. Komagata wrote to me saying that she will join our delegation). Once our siblings and Heiri Feron and Mélanie Komagata confirm their intention to join the delegation, it will become clearer who else we should invite to make the twelve. We have to limit the number to make it manageable.
3. The purpose of the 2023 Swiss Tour is to raise the awareness of the people in SK and around the world about the possibility of permanent neutrality of Korea. It will make a world news and SK will wake up to it. We are also going to make a documentary of our Swiss Tour to further. This is to educate the SK people about the possibility of neutralization of Korea.
- The first conditions to neutralize a country is (1) to meet the geopolitical condition, namely that it is surrounded by the superpowers and has a history of constantly being invaded/controlled by them. (2) the people of this small and frequently invaded country should want their country to become a neutral state. But to get there, they need to be equiped with the essential information. So we created a booklet to this end.(se the attached file)
